I admit, I'm a health freak.. almost

*warning: health post below.. mostly about health so read at your own risk.*

So it's been a while since I've blogged about wedding and all that stuff going on. So let's start there shall we? Surprisingly people actually read what I write and some even do it anonymously- which is fine by me. It would be nice to get a comment or two to hear from these anons tho : ) I'll write more if you support me.

For starters, we're going to be making our own corsages. As cheap as we sound we don't really care. We're entitled to our own opinion of our wedding. See, we spent the most money in what we both knew was a good investment and now we will cheap out on what is considered a less important investment. Although flowers make a wedding look beautiful we can't afford the really nice stuff so there's no point in trying to look like we tried but failed. Therefore, we're just paying bucks for the bouquet and boutonnieres and everyone else's corsage will be homemade. Hey homemade has meaning too. Plus I was never a fan of fresh bouquets and flowers cause they all end up dying hence it is not going to be a big investment. To be honest, I'm not very sentimental with things like flowers, birthday cards, or even wedding dresses. Oddly enough though I did have an attachment to my old macbook G4 when I sold it a year or two ago. Alright, if you handmake the birthday card I shall pin it to my cork board for as long as I can.

What do I like? Intangible stuff like experiences and the outdoors. I also like tangible stuff like good books and gadgets that assist me with my creative digital work. I like software. A course in learning how to do something. I like food. Food is a tangible experience and I would invest in food even tho it gets pooped out after it's eaten. I also invest in food because I believe in investing in good health. Hence I am a health freak.

Because I'm a health freak, this wedding business has affected my health and has left me feeling disappointed, grumpy, and tired...

Planning a wedding is hard work and sometimes the way we eat and sleep is affected. In my case when everything goes haywire you get a grumpy, sleepless, tired bride to be. When that happens life just isn't the same. I need my health to be superb to do the things I love. I can't deny it that I strive to be healthy to get the best out of life.

Some people are naturals. They have a super high metabolism. Everything they eat is fine cause they have little to no allergies. They lose all the weight they gain immediately or don't gain any at all. Or they don't react the way that I react to certain foods, which is usually indigestion or some.. other.. stuff. Anyway, some people have it better than others and hence they don't need to try as hard to maintain balanced energy levels and a healthy body. Heck, I remember in highschool some people barely even sleep and manage to come to school on time after pulling all-nighters. Me on the otherhand I come in with heavy and dark eye bags.

It is like skin. Some people have horrible skin. They get breakout after breakout. They invest a lot of money into high quality cleansers and skin care. They have a skin care routine they follow everyday. Me on the other hand I'm considered lucky in this area. I use almost no products other than a cleanser once or twice a week. I don't do masks or scrubs or facials. I can eat chocolate without getting pimples. On a few occasions I slept with my make up on and I was fine. Oh and I only wash my face with a wet towel. I save loads on skin care. I only buy cleanser and moisturizer.

So some people who have it worse will have to invest more in that area. I have it worse with my foods because my body is picky hence I will eat organics here and there and not binge on wheat products like bread. Whole wheat is healthy and so is flaxseed but my body responds poorly to it. For example flaxseed gives me a bad stomach ache, kinda like heartburn. I discovered this through eating granola and fruit leather containing this very ingredient. UGH... it was one of the worst stomach pains ever.

Anyway, let's hope I stay happy and healthy.. or at least try to get back on this route. I'll even treat you better when I'm healthy yo.

Since I'm going to be going to India soon and the wedding is in half organized chaos, I'm glad to have handy dandy wedding coordinators to pull me through.

Everyone spends their money on different things. As long as you're not going into debt or hurting anyone, why judge other people? It's a waste of energy. I'm sure your DIY floral arrangements will be beautiful. :-)

I loooove the idea of handmade corsages! I think that's very sentimental actually! I am much more likely to keep something handmade than purchased.

I'm glad you're remembering that this wedding is YOURS and STEPHEN's. The decisions is YOURS and STEPHEN's to make regarding what YOU and STEPHEN want =)

I can't believe you rarely even use a cleanser. I've been on a forever hunt for the right combination of products that would finally keep my skin clear. It's a little depressing to be 24 and still battling acne =(

But then, I'm the opposite with foods. I rarely get stomach aches - BUT I live in extremes! I rarely get aches but about 3 weeks ago, I ate a LOT of baby carrots and got a 5-day stomach ache lol.

We all have a bone to pick with our bodies, in one way or another.
