Dry Ice Dissolving in Loon Lake

We were at Loon Lake for a company retreat and we used dry ice for one of the activities. After that we had to dump it out so we decided to dump it into the lake. One of our coworkers had a water proof camera so we got her to video the whole effect. It's really awesome watching how the ice reacts underwater. The bubbles remind me of a pop drink. It's like a close up of how a carbonated drink would look like if we were inside the bottle. : )

This second one's even more awesome. It's coming towards you.

Summer 2009 Top Ten Places

This year it seems that I'm most likely going to be spending my summer within BC. It's not a bad idea but I do have ideal foreign places I want to visit. We talked about dream vacations at cell group and my picks are: Caribbeans, Singapore, Malaysia and Korea.

To spend my 2009 summer I hope to get a chance to enjoy and do the following:

Beach.
The beach is always a must – water + sand + sun = fun!

Picnic. Does anyone still believe in picnic dates? I don't think I've ever had one so it would be nice to try. Food and good weather and the outdoors make a good date plan.

Grouse Grind. This is one of those activities that I keep telling myself I'll do this year and it never happens so I would postpone it to next year which also never happens.

Sea Wall Blading. It also never happens. I haven't touched my blades in years. I'm also wondering if it's a good idea for me to blade on the sea wall since I can't really stop. I guess I'm fine as long as I bring someone experienced. There are enough trees for me to hug so I should be alright.

Cherry Picking. This is on the top of my summer list. I bought a bag of cherries at superstore for $5/lb - bought 2lbs so that's $10. Can you believe that? That’s ridiculously pricey for cherries but they were absolutely perfect - ripe and sweet and plump. So after paying $10 for 2lbs, it only made sense to go hand pick them at an orchard for cheaper. Off to Okanagans!

Seattle Shopping. Done and done! Shopping in the states and getting bargains at outlets! I love forever21's accessories.

Camping. Whether it's tent camping or in cabins, I've done both. I've been to Tofino and it was awesome even though the birds ate from our garbage when we left our site and we got fined for the mess we didn't make.

Swimming. Can't swim that well but I definitely like floating on my back and relaxing in the indoor pools. Especially when it's so hot outside.

Barbeque. Had a couple of these already!

Football. In the park or on a beach - it can really work up a sweat!
