Cute Tees Make My Day, How Bout Yours?

I am a fanatic of cute things, but particularly cute graphic tees. It was a few weeks ago when Bluenotes had their graphic tee sale and I bought some interesting tees that had a bit of an artistic flair to them. I know cute things can be too much sometimes but not when it's mixed in with a bit of bad ass. Kinda like how emily the strange is. She's a cute cartoon character but she's got this attitude and goth thing going on.

So here we go:

All the tees here have these characters written on the back.

This is awesome. See how the balloon string looks stitched into the shirt?

RAR!! This is an inspiration for my upcoming stycki button design : D

Oh and look at that artwork. I love monsters. Can't beat the price. $10 or less.

Here I am. I am well, how bout you out there? I really need a bang cut : /

What's Up Vday and Olympics

So I haven't visited here for a while mainly cause of school. However, I do plan to revisit this blog every now and then - maybe once a month at least? I've been quite busy with school and work and also my side stuff. I've been on the computer a lot these day working on projects both personal and school related.

I notice that Valentine's Day is just around the corner. I don't really have anything against Valentine's Day. All I know is just like Christmas it's another one of those occasions where it gets over commercialized and usually the pressure is on the guys to make the right move and do the right things. As for myself I just want a simple, happy, sweet Valentine's Day. The more relaxing the better.. oh and good food is always a must for any occasion! Last year my honey (no I don't call him that don't know why I wrote that) took us to Boathouse for dinner. Lobster was delish and the miso halibut was sooo good. This year we're on a bit of a low budget so nothing fancy but no plans yet either. Maybe he can get me one of these fruit baskets from Edible Arrangements. Or some bath oils and sugar scrubs so I can enjoy myself and de-stress. I know what I'm getting him already.. it's really inexpensive, cute, homemade - personally designed by me.

Speaking of relaxation I wish I can get out of Vancouver while the Olympics are around. There are a few deals to go to Maui and San Fran at this time. If I had the money I'd be out of here already.

Doesn't this edible arrangement bouquet look yummy? Seriously it's just chocolate covered fruit and heart shaped pineapples at the end of the day but it's artistic and creative so I give points for that. It's also an ideal Valentine's gift for guys who are out of ideas for their health conscious girlfriends (just don't get one with chocolate covered strawberries).

This one even comes with a balloon. (I am a big fan of fruits!)

New Bag

In my last post regarding purchasing a bag from Aldo it never happened. It was ridiculous but every dollar got refunded back on my credit card. So maybe they ran out of stock. If that were the case the CSR over the phone sure didn't say so. She made me believe I paid for the bag after I purchased it from her over the phone. I then realized the bag didn't arrive even after weeks and weeks. Until I saw my credit card bill that it was refunded by them. Such horrible customer service.

Good news is I stopped by the NOOD furniture store and saw a laptop bag that I liked. It seemed sturdy and will work for now. Only $30 on sale from regular price of $99. It's not even real leather so I don't know why it was over priced but most things you find at the NOOD store are over priced anyway.

The laptop compartment fits a 15" laptop. I can fit a textbook or small books in there. It also has a lot of space and pockets for other things like cellphone and keys.

Here's the Hamilton Laptop Bag.

My Favorite Stocking Stuffer

Bath and Body Works - Anti Bacterial Soap - Cucumber Melon ($3)

I'm going to talk about Bath and Body Works in this post cause it's almost Christmas and people are probably looking for stocking stuffer gifts at this time of year. Why Bath and Body Works? I love their liquid hand soaps! They have foam ones too but I like the liquid ones so much that I bought them for stocking stuffers last year. I think it's a pretty good generic gift for someone you don't know too well cause anyone can make use of liquid soap. It's inexpensive and easy to wrap (stick them in a small gift bag lol). They have great scents and they really are at a good stocking stuffer price. You can get them for about $3 or less each when they are on sale. They sometimes have better deals if you buy in multiples (comes to less than $3 each)! My favorite scents are Cucumber Melon, Irresistible Apple, and the Japanese Cherry Blossom.

Other than soaps, they have a lot of other products that I have yet to try such as lotions, scrubs, shower gels, and some cosmetic and skin care goodies. Websites such as Savings.com offers Bath and Body Works Coupons amongst some of the other coupons they also have. If you have a Bath and Body Works located close by, you won't need to deal with online ordering. I was really surprised to find that they are actually located in Richmond Centre. I only found that out last month- and when did they start having it at Richmond anyways? I kept making trips to the states.

Chamomile Cleanser - Cleans Deep!

I've been looking for a good cleanser lately and stumbled across this on the YvesRocher.ca website. I make a few skincare and makeup orders here once in a while when they have good deals. I bought the Chamomile Deep Cleansing Gel recently cause it was buy one get one free. For $12 I get two bottles of 200ml cleanser and skin that feels clean and moisturized. My skin is normal to dry and some cleansers leave my skin feeling clean but dry. I think Avon and Mark cleansers don't work that well for me. This one is actually refreshing because of the scent (it's made from organic chamomile) and it feels really good on my face. It feels clean and leaves my skin smooth even before the moisturizing step. I think it's because there's no soap ingredient in this formula. $12 for two bottles. I think it's well worth my money plus they give away free gifts with every order of a certain amount. There is also the same cleanser that is a cleanser-toner 2 in 1 for $12 per bottle. Anyway, just thought I'd share a good cleanser. I'm really loving the smell!

Cute Rainboots That Do The Job

As some of you might know, Vancouver city is very well known for rain. But even knowing that myself and having gone through years of dodging puddles and soaking socks, never did I look into investing on a pair of rain boots. Feeling a little foolish here - _-

Well I did try. But I gave up eventually because I always ended up hating the styles I saw. Rain boots were stereotyped as shiny-reflective-bulky-rubber with a very bad smell. Some have ridiculous patterns on them that are way too crazy for me. I prefer to have a modest looking pair of rain boots.

I started looking again this year and even though I saw some really nice waterproof/rain boots from GEOX and Townshoes, I really didn't want to invest so much that I'd end up emptying my wallet. They were very dressy styles though - almost leather looking and could match any wool coat or skinny jeans.

Last week I decided to pop into Army&Navy and to my surprise I found these but in black:
Rampage from Army&Navy - $30

IMO they were the perfect pair of rain boots! That's cause they're black, well fitted and most of all they don't cost me a fortune. They even have little buckles making it look even slightly dressy and they're matte - not shiny. For $30 I was very satisfied knowing that I could keep my socks dry and splash in puddles when running late to work : P

My classmates told me that they looked like Hunter boots. Hunter boots are a more expensive brand of boots that resembled the ones I bought which were branded Rampage. But they're almost identical.

Hunters at Townshoes $100+

Regardless of brand/price, I still kind of like the Rampage ones more because they're matte. But yes I have rain boots now so that makes rainy days a little less discouraging. : ) Get yours at Army&Navy if you're on a budget for rain boots - they have lots of styles.
