Diamond rings - what do you think about when you think of diamond rings? Engagement? Broke? Useless shiny rock? Tiffany & Co?
I never thought much of diamond rings up til now. It's the symbolic piece of jewelry for engagement. It's a deposit. It's a token of appreciation and commitment and it means a wedding will come sometime soon after.. or even way later.. but for now it'll be the mark on her finger that screams: "She's MINE, don't mess." Haha that's just my take on it but I'm sure many guys out there will agree.
Other than what it symbolizes, it also says a lot too. The bigger and sparkly-er the diamond the better the impression. The more expensive it is the more pride in wearing it and the more broke the guy is. I've never looked at an engagement ring that way though. I mean I just never liked the idea of wearing rings simply cause it's a bother. I love necklaces and bracelets but rings just get in the way of things. I never cared for a big fat diamond to flaunt although it is a nice accessory to look at. I'm still quite fascinated at the fact that this rock is at least 300 million years old!
Diamonds have different shapes. Here's some popular ones:

I like the cushion cut best - I used to love princess cuts and emerald cuts, but the cushion is nice because it's not a square, but it's not as rectangular as the emerald, it's got the brilliant sparkle of a round cut, and I love the way the edges are rounded. I'm just obsessed because my engagement ring is a cushion cut and I just got engaged a few weeks ago! Your ring is beautiful...round cuts are classic and always VERY sparkly!
